Your brand-new Nuance PowerMic has just arrived (great choice by the way!) – Now where to start?

Our technical support team are here to talk you through the setup and how to get the best results with the microphone.

How to set up the Nuance PowerMic

Step 1: Connecting The Microphone

One of the great things about the Nuance PowerMic is its ‘plugin and play’ functionality making it super easy to connect.

Remove the packaging, take the USB connector and input it into one of the USB ports on your PC or laptop.

You should hear a little alert noise as your computer acknowledges the device.

Step 2: Select A Microphone

For the most part, you won’t need this step as the PowerMic should be detected when plugged in. However, in the case that you’ve plugged it in and your computer hasn’t identified it, this step is for you.

Assuming you’re using a Windows PC, go into your computer settings and select ‘Sound Options’.

From here you should see the microphones that are enabled and the Nuance PowerMic will be one of them.

Select the PowerMic from the list and you’re good to go!

Bonus Tip!

Ok so now you’re all set up, we thought it’d be helpful to share a bonus tip for those of you that are using your Nuance PowerMic with Dragon speech recognition software.

Did you know that the buttons on the microphone are customisable?

This means that you can programme them to complete specific actions, ultimately streamlining and personalising your workflow even further.

You can do this by going to The DragonBar > Setting > Options.
